THE STORY OF AGAPI

17 October 2018

Agapi means love in Greek.

Our Agapi didn't get much of that in the first year of her life. She was kept on a chain by a farmer as a puppy. She grew up for a year but her collar was never loosened. She became aggressive from the pain and threatened to bite when approached. In addition, the deep wounds began to smell. This disturbed the farmer so he cut the chain and disposed of the young dog, leaving it to roam the streets.

Agapi wanders around a village near Serres, badly wounded, and does not let anyone approach her. For four days, the vets try to capture her. With very small steps, we gain their trust. While she is under anesthesia, we are able to remove her collar. What we find has left us speechless. The wound is deep and it takes weeks for Agapi to recover. But recover she does and we find a good home for her.
